Glow in the Dark Paddle Boarding : North Shore Oahu

Keʻalohi Surf has been bringing a different kind of experience to Oʻahu's North Shore for more than a decade, having been founded in 2015 following a chance meeting between Franco Martinangeli and Luis Real. Although the two came from very different professional backgrounds, they quickly discovered that their respective expertise could come together to create something genuinely unique. Franco brought years of experience working with sophisticated LED lighting systems, while Luis contributed an extensive background in both the hospitality and surfing industries, along with a deep understanding of what makes the North Shore such a special place to visit.

Rather than simply offering another way to get out on the water, the pair set out to create an experience that would allow visitors—and locals who thought they already knew Haleʻiwa—to see their surroundings from an entirely different perspective. The result was Keʻalohi Surf, combining the peaceful experience of paddleboarding with innovative glow-in-the-dark technology to transform the water after sunset. What began as an idea born from an unexpected meeting has evolved into a distinctive North Shore experience, inviting people to leave the ordinary behind, get on the water and discover Haleʻiwa in a way that's quite literally unlike anything they experience during the day.

Luis, who also operates a Surfing Museum in Haleiwa out of the famous North Shore Surf Shop, is now the sole owner of Keʻalohi Surf, but maintains the spirit of collaboration with everyone on his team to ensure guests of Keʻalohi Surf enjoy the ultimate paddleboarding experience.
